PRECISION TRUCK & TRAILER
providing 20 years of service

Sam Lewis, founder and president of Precision Truck & Trailer likes to kid about how he started the business 20 years ago: "I was the trailer shop foreman at the old Milne Truck Lines, and had worked there for 13 years. When the company was sold I went looking for a job. The problem was that no one would hire me--so I started my own business".

The fact is that Precision's success story has certainly been no kidding matter. And that they are real serious when it comes to customer service. The single most important component in their success.

"We just try to be fair with our customers...We have excellent customers and dedicated employees...That's why we're successful", says Lewis.

The company started off in a two-bay shop on Industrial Road and as Sam Lewis describes: "It was just large enough to work on two trailers. Today, the repair shop is located on 1220 South Pioneer Road and the organization has grown to 40 employees and eight drive-thru bays that are each 100 feet long.

"Originally we only repaired trailers because that's what we specialized in, Our tractor repair business started with changing oil, then some clutch work, and now were a full service bumper-to-bumper truck and trailer shop" explains Lewis.

Paying close attention to the changing needs of customers has resulted in even more new services--like offering a night shift that is dedicated entirely to fleets that can't afford to tie up their trucks during the day. Precision does a lot of grease, oil, and filter work, especially at night

Another high service priority that is important to Precision Truck & Trailer customers is 24 hour road service.

"We have six people who can do road service, and we offer emergency service 24 hours a day, 7 days a week," says Lewis.

The 24 hour road service availability is something our customers really need. The mobile service unit is equipped with machinery, tools and parts to cover a variety of road-side problems. And it takes a specially skilled mechanic to send out on a road call...away from the conveniences of a shop. Some of the more common road-side difficulties arc defective lights, broken air lines, frozen brake lines, broken hoses and belts...To name only a few problems encountered along the way. The point is that Precision's well-equipped service vehicle and skilled people are always ready to help customers when and where they need it.
